My Hotmail Messages are Blank!


Q: When I download my messages from Hotmail in Outlook [some/all] of them are showing up blank!  Maybe a date or time but no subject or body text.  They look fine if I log into Hotmail via my browser.

A: If you're running anti-virus software, especially Norton, you should try turning off the feature that scans incoming e-mail, that isn't really necessary as long as you have memory resident scanning (which nearly every antivirus product does) and it can cause problems like this.  With Norton it may not be enough to just turn off that feature; you might have to uninstall Norton and reinstall it without the e-mail scanning.
